Salt Water Medicine
We’ve all been told by the centralised powers that be, to avoid salt, but did you know that when people are in hospital with serious heart conditions, doctors treat them with hypertonic saline—literally lots of salt?
When hearts are struggling and conventional treatments stop working, hospitals turn to high-concentration salt solutions to help save lives. The salt helps draw fluid from tissues and gets the kidneys working better—the exact opposite of what we’ve been taught to fear about salt.
Studies show that this salt therapy improved outcomes, helped remove excess fluid, and enhanced kidney function in heart failure patients. It’s pretty incredible when you think about it.
And here’s the beautiful part: even regular IV fluids—that “normal saline” dripping into patients’ veins—contains salt at the same concentration as seawater. Modern medicine is literally using the ocean’s wisdom to heal us.
Of course, if you have kidney problems, definitely check in with your trusted health practitioner. But for the rest of us? That morning glass of water with a pinch of “high quality” sea salt isn’t just refreshing—it’s decentralised medicine.

Your Body’s Detox Powerhouse
That morning brisk walk and a few beads of sweat on your foreheat isn’t just burning calories—it’s literally flushing toxins from your system. New research shows sweat contains heavy metals at concentrations 10 – 30 times higher than blood or urine. The landmark BUS Study (Blood, Urine, Sweat) found that cadmium appeared in 80% of participants’ sweat after sauna use, even when only half of the participants showed detectable levels in their blood.
Lead and cadmium—metals with 20-30 year half-lives in the body —were excreted much more readily through sweat than traditional elimination pathways. Whilst a typical sauna session produces half a litre of sweat, making it your most efficient detox system, sweating it out with strangers at the local gym may not be everyone’s vibe.
Don’t forget a hot bath has been shown to generate more therapeutic sweat than a sauna (as we discovered a few weeks’ ago). But don’t overlook life’s natural sweat sessions— a good gardening session in the midday sun, cleaning out the garage, or moving heavy things around. Sometimes the most healing thing you can do is simply work up an honest sweat. To sweat, is to heal.

Tears rolling down our cheek can happen for many reasons. Tears of joy when your child takes their first steps. Tears of immense grief when saying goodbye to someone you love. Tears of pain when life feels too heavy to bear. That eight glasses of water you’re dutifully drinking every day doesn’t automatically hydrate your cells. The water inside your cells has been transformed into something completely different from what flows from your tap—it’s negatively charged and so electrically powerful that Pollack’s lab can actually light up an LED bulb using this cellular water. Understanding this difference changes everything about health.
Disease as Dehydration: A Revolutionary Theory
Pollack believes that disease is essentially a lack of EZ water in your cells. We start life as babies at 90% water and gradually dehydrate to about 60% as adults. Those wrinkles? Visible proof of cellular dehydration.
As we age and get attacked by environmental carcinogens, the proteins inside our cells undergo changes. These damaged proteins become less effective at building and maintaining EZ water. The result? Cells that can’t function properly, leading to illness and disease.

Normal, healthy cells maintain electrical potential of 50-80 millivolts. Cancer cells? They’re running at a lower 10-20 millivolts. Research shows that if you artificially lower a normal cell’s electrical potential, it starts dividing uncontrollably like cancer. Conversely, boost a cancer cell’s electrical potential back to normal levels, and it stops dividing.
