Welcome to Unstoppables – your weekly dose of circadian sunshine and actionable tips, tools and information to help you become your own health boss.
This week’s newsletter unpacks the magic of time away, what’s coming next for this community, and two new studies proving what we’ve known all along: the healing power of light and Earth. Plus, we dive into Part 2 of your personal health and life blueprint—because your wellbeing deserves the same strategy you’d give your business.
1 Thing I’m Doing
Unpacking, sunrises, soul shifts… and what’s next.
Over the past two and a half weeks, my family and I travelled more than 4,000km across Australia on a winter road trip we’ll never forget.
We walked barefoot on endless beaches. Swam in cool, crystal-clear waters. Stood atop volcanic rocks over 196 million years old.
We laughed until our bellies hurt. Explored tiny towns and bustling markets. Stargazed, bakery-hopped, and sat quietly—together. We met new friends and hugged some old ones.
We played games, talked about life, and created the kind of memories that etch themselves into your soul.
I watched golden sunrises stretch over fog-kissed fields dotted with cows. And in the stillness, I found myself blinking back tears – my heart so full of peace and gratitude. Perfect moments really don’t require that much at all.
There’s something magical about packing the car to the roof, cramming in kids and doggo, and hitting the open road. From country to coast, South to North and back again—it was a full-bodied exhale.
Travelling with teens feels even more precious now. My babies aren’t babies anymore. And I know that in just a few short years, they’ll be off writing their own chapters and school holidays will be no more. So every break matters. Every adventure counts. Life moves so fast. Kids grow so big.
And now, back home, as I unpack bags and sort through sandy shoes and piles of laundry, I’m also unpacking something deeper—visions, ideas, reflections. The kind that only seem to show up when you’ve had space to breathe.
A Shift Is Coming…
In the coming weeks, you’ll notice a small shift in how I structure these Sunday newsletters.
I’ve always tried to pack in as much value as I can—often tipping over 2,000 words, aiming to share science, stories, studies, and soul. I’ve realised something simple but profound: less can be more.
I want to give you space to not just read the information… but live what you learn.
I also want to honour a little truth: sharing personal stories has at times left me feeling raw. Vulnerable. And while I believe deeply in transparency, I also know that not everyone has the capacity (or desire) to read the full scope of Sandy’s inner monologue every week. Sometimes, they’re even too much for me. 😉
But here’s what I also know…
I have more to share. Much more. Ideas, views, research, and wisdom I’ve held back—worried they’d push too far or land in the too-much basket. Yet I know many of you are ready for the deeper, unfiltered version of this conversation.
So, as this road trip ends, another journey begins.
What’s Next
The Sunday newsletter will still be your organic jam-packed weekly dose of tips, tools, science, and strategies to stay strong and well. That’s not changing.
But I’m also creating a separate space. A new platform. A new community.
A community for those who want to go deeper—into health, wealth, spirituality, sovereignty and decentralised wisdom.
Think: no fluff, no filters. Just the real deal.
You’ll get my full, uncut thoughts, access to next-level insights, curated tools, and a private place to connect, discuss, and grow with others walking a similar path.
I’ve been lucky to learn from some of the world’s best minds—and it’s time to pass that on to those ready to receive it.
We’re heading into powerful, unpredictable times.
And I believe we need each other now more than ever.
I’ll share more on how to join this new space very soon. And if you’re nodding along and thinking yes, this is what I’ve been waiting for—keep an eye out.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on all this too so just hit reply as I’m all ears.
Let’s make the second half of 2025 one to remember. Let’s go. ❤️

2 Things I’ve Learnt
Can sunlight cure disease?
In last month’s Scientific American, researchers are finally “discovering” 😉😉 that sunshine might be one of our most powerful medicines. Funny about that, right?

Here’s a story that’ll make you want to step outside right now. Kathy Reagan Young, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2008. Her immune system was basically at war with itself, attacking the protective sheaths around her nerves. But then something remarkable happened. She started using UV light therapy – and her symptoms became manageable.
This isn’t just one person’s story. Researchers are uncovering that UV light – yes, the same stuff we’ve been told to avoid – actually acts like a master switch for our immune system. When UV rays hit our skin, they trigger a cascade of beneficial molecules that calm inflammation throughout our entire body. We’re talking about the skin, nervous system, pancreas, and gut.
Does this sound familiar at all, my lovely friends?
The evidence is stacking up beautifully. Studies show that people living at higher latitudes (with less sun exposure) have dramatically higher rates of autoimmune diseases like MS, type 1 diabetes, and inflammatory bowel disease. It’s not a coincidence – it’s biology. But don’t fret my fellow, high latitude friends, it just means we have to be more diligent with our light.
The research in this article suggests that controlled UV exposure might help with everything from multiple sclerosis to cardiovascular disease to depression. It’s like our skin is a sophisticated pharmacy, producing healing compounds on demand when kissed by sunlight.
For us at Unstoppables, this isn’t breaking news – it’s a nice little win. We’ve been championing the healing power of sunlight for quite some time now, while mainstream medicine told us to slather on SPF 50 and hide indoors. Now here they are, finally catching up to what our ancestors knew and what we’ve been practicing all along.
The best medicine isn’t found in a laboratory – it’s shining down on us every single day, 100% free and just waiting for you to step outside.
Grounding gets scientific validation
And for another little decentralised health win this week – grounding just got the peer-reviewed stamp of approval!
A brand new study in FEBS Open Bio just dropped that’ll make even the biggest skeptics take their shoes off. Researchers studied mitochondria (your body’s energy engines) in three conditions; grounded vs ungrounded vs sham-grounded (fake grounded and a placebo).
What they found? Absolutely stunning:
⚡ ATP (cellular energy) ↑ 5–11%
🧯 Oxidative stress ↓ 22–33%
🔋 Mitochondrial efficiency ↑
Translation: cells literally produced more energy with less damage – just from touching the Earth.
This isn’t feel-good pseudoscience anymore. This is hardcore mitochondrial medicine with numbers to back it up. When you ground yourself – whether walking barefoot on grass, swimming in the ocean, or wiggling your toes in sand – you’re plugging into the Earth’s electrical field and neutralising harmful free radicals.
For millions of years, humans were constantly connected to the Earth through bare feet and natural materials. Modern life has disconnected us from this fundamental electrical relationship, and our mitochondria are paying the price.
So the next time someone gives you a funny look for kicking off your shoes in the park, just smile and let your supercharged mitochondria do the talking.
We always need to remember – the most powerful biohacks aren’t found in expensive supplements or fancy devices. They’re found by simply reconnecting with the Earth beneath our feet or the sun above our heads.
3 Things To Explore
Part 2: Beyond Journaling – Creating your personal Health & Life Plan
Last week we talked about setting up your optimal journal. I hope you found this process valuable and that you were kind to yourself along the way. This week, let’s take it deeper with something I’m really excited to share with you.
We’re constantly hearing about business plans, but what about life and health plans? Why don’t we approach our most precious asset – our wellbeing – with the same strategic thinking we give to our careers?
Section 1: The Life Audit – Your Current Reality Check
Before you can plan where you’re going, you need to know where you stand. This simple but powerful exercise will give you crystal clarity on your life right now.
Rate yourself out of 10 in each of these core areas:
🏃♀️ Physical Health – Energy levels, fitness, nutrition, sleep quality
💰 Financial Wellbeing – Security, abundance mindset, financial stress levels
❤️ Relationships – Family, friends, romantic partnerships, social connections
🧠 Mental/Emotional Health – Stress management, mindset, emotional regulation
✨ Spiritual Connection – Purpose, meaning, connection to something greater
🏘️ Community & Contribution – Sense of belonging, how you serve others
🎯 Personal Growth – Learning, skills development, pursuing passions
🌍 Environment – Your living space, work environment, natural surroundings
Be brutally honest. A 7/10 in physical health might mean you feel good most days but know you could optimise your nutrition. A 4/10 in relationships might signal it’s time to prioritise deeper connections.
Write down why you gave each score. What’s working? What’s not? This isn’t about judgement – it’s about awareness.

Section 2: Your 90-Day Health & Life Sprint
Now that you know where you stand, let’s create your personal optimisation plan. Forget overwhelming year-long resolutions. We’re thinking in 90-day sprints – long enough to create real change, short enough to maintain focus.
Pick your top 3 lowest-scoring areas from your audit. For each one, create:
Your Vision: What would a 9/10 look like in this area? Be specific. Instead of “better health,” try “waking up energised, sleeping 7-8 hours consistently, and feeling strong in my body.”
Your Why: Connect this goal to something deeper. Maybe improving your physical health means having energy to play with your kids, or building financial security gives you freedom to pursue your passions.
Your 3 Key Actions: What are the three most impactful things you could do in the next 90 days? For physical health, it might be: establish a morning routine, prep healthy meals twice a week, and move your body daily for 20 minutes.
Your Weekly Check-ins: Every Sunday, score yourself again in these three areas. Are you moving the needle? What’s working? What needs tweaking?
The magic happens when you treat your life with the same intentionality you’d bring to building a business or your career. Because honestly, isn’t the business of living well the most important venture you’ll ever undertake?
Remember: you’re not trying to optimise everything at once. You’re strategically upgrading the areas that will give you the biggest return on investment in your overall life satisfaction.
What would your life look like if you approached it with this level of intentional design?
The person you’re meant to be…
“Sometimes, you have to step outside of the person you’ve been and remember the person you were meant to be. The person you want to be. The person you are.” ― H.G. Wells
