1 THING I’M DOING

World’s Best Lamp

Ever since I started my journey towards a more circadian-friendly lifestyle, I’ve stumbled upon some amazing products that make modern living healthier—especially when it comes to managing artificial light and blue light before bed. And whilst the idea of lighting our home up with candles sounds dreamy, let’s be real, it’s not exactly practical right? But that’s OK my Unstoppable friend. I have found us the perfect solution. I’ve put it to the test and present to you the world’s best Blue Blocking Sleep Friendly Lamp. Ta da!!

I have had a couple of these gems scattered around the house for a little while now, and they’ve truly transformed our night-time ambience and routine. One lamp has found a permanent home in the bathroom, which means the kids and I can brush our teeth at night without being blinded by harsh LED downlights. Another lamp roams between the kitchen and bedroom, allowing my eyes to gently adjust to the new day each morning, instead of feeling like a deer caught in headlights.

This lamp is a game-changer and here’s what I love. It has three light settings so you can easily switch between different lights to suit what you need. It has adjustable brightness. A simple press of a button lets you set the perfect brightness. The flexible goose neck let you aim the light exactly where you need it. It’s low nnEMF, portable and rechargeable, which screams take me anywhere, anytime. And the best bit. It is 100% blue light free which means it won’t sabotage your sleep or confuse your body’s internal clock.

This lamp is perfect for everyone, but I’ve recently come to the conclusion that this would make the best present for a new Mum! Think about it. Baby wakes in the middle of the night. The last thing you want to do for baby and Mum is put bright LED lights on which are circadian and sleep enemies. The quicker baby goes to sleep, the more rested Mum is too.

These lights have been a lifesaver, even converting my initially skeptical kids who looked at me strangely (again!). Now they complain that the downlights are “too bright, too bright,” just like little gremlins when someone turns them on.

✔️ Action Item – If you like the idea of these lamps for you or someone you know, I’ve secured a cheeky little discount for my Unstoppables family. Just use the code UNSTOPPABLES for 10% off all BlockBlueLight goodies and you’ll stay well-lit my beautiful friend!

2 THINGS I’VE LEARNT

Food is What?

We tend to look at food as a combination of protein, lipids (fats) and carbohydrates but lately I have been putting my quantum physics hat on and looking at my organic apples a little differently. Ready to have your food mind blown?

Firstly, a bit of biology. We know that our entire food web comes from the sun. Our amazing plants are natural solar panels. They absorb the solar energy and light from the sun and transform it into a chemical energy. From here, our food chain begins. All food comes from light and without sunlight, there would be no food.

In the quantum biology world, food is considered an expression of the sun. A reflection of what is possible at a particular latitude, at a particular time.

Food is an electromagnetic barcode of where the sun is, in relation to the earth and the moon. And before you get all dizzy, stick with me.

When you think about this, it makes perfect sense. We don’t grow coconuts in Victoria and nor do we see mangoes on trees in Winter. It’s just not possible! Nature doesn’t allow it. And just because modern marvels have made freighting food around the world, all year round, do-able, that doesn’t mean it’s OK or the best thing for us.

By eating food that is grown at the same latitude as ourselves (or as close as possible), we are eating food that is electromagnetically coupled to us. It means local food is quantumly connected, energetically aligned, biophysically better or without all the mumbo jumbo words, it’s what nature wanted for us.

We’re all familiar with the simple mantra, eat locally, eat seasonally. That’s pretty much what I’m saying here. And yes of course I still drink the odd coffee and open a can of coconut cream to make a curry, but when it comes to choosing between my organic milk from Victoria or Queensland, I choose Victoria. And if I can buy organic apples from Victoria or New South Wales, I’m going Victorian again. I am lucky that my gorgeous organic store clearly labels all produce so this makes it easy. It also makes the cherries in December taste all the more sweeter when you haven’t had them all year round.

✔️ Action Item – Go local and seasonal as much as you can. Shopping at organic stores and farmer’s markets generally makes this easier so support these wonderful places.

Melatonin’s Unsung Benefits

When we hear the word “melatonin” we usually think of sleepy time and lullabies. That gentle hormone that whispers, “you’re getting tired” in our ear and starts sooshing us to bed. But don’t be fooled. Melatonin is much more than our sleepy maker so let’s dive into the other remarkable benefits of this powerhouse hormone.

The 5 Benefits of Melatonin Apart from Sleep

  1. Antioxidant Properties – Melatonin is a potent antioxidant, which means it helps combat oxidative stress and free radicals, the nasty molecules that can cause cellular damage, aging and disease in your body.
  2. Immune Support – Melatonin boosts the production of immune cells and enhances their activity. This helps your body fight off infections more effectively which is especially important during stress and Winter.
  3. Mood Regulation – Feeling blue or anxious? Melatonin’s got your back. It interacts with your body’s circadian rhythms, which are closely linked to mood regulation. It helps stabilise mood swings and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. It’s like having a little emotional support buddy right inside your body.
  4. Gut Health – Believe it or not, melatonin is also produced in the gut, and it contributes significantly to digestive health. It helps regulate bowel movements, reduces inflammation, and can even protect against certain gastrointestinal disorders. So, the next time you’re taking care of your sleep hygiene, remember that your gut will thank you too!
  5. Cancer-Fighting Potential – There are several studies that show that melatonin has anti-cancer properties. It’s also been shown to enhance the efficacy of conventional treatments like chemotherapy and radiation which opens up a lot of possibilities for people going through treatment.

Melatonin is much more than just a sleep aid. It’s an antioxidant, immune boosting, mood regulating, gut supporting, and cancer fighting hormone making it essential for your overall health and wellness. And it’s not just about popping supplements. By maintaining a regular sleep schedule, limiting your exposure to blue light and creating a dark melatonin friendly environment, you’ll be giving your body the best chance of success at making this precious magical hormone.

✔️ Action Item – Once you’ve had dinner, start dimming lights inside and avoid all blue light which supresses your melatonin production by up to 80%.

3 THINGS TO EXPLORE

Things That Your Doctor Won’t Talk About That Are Making You Sick

Doctors are amazing! When it comes to trauma, accidents, and emergency situations, they are truly gifts from the heavens above. We couldn’t do without them. But when it comes to chronic diseases, there’s a lot more that could be done.

The number of people suffering from non-communicable chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, neurological degenerative diseases, autoimmune, and inflammatory conditions just keeps rising. Clearly, something isn’t working as it should. Unfortunately, Western medicine often overlooks or downplays solutions that don’t fit into their conventional models or align with drugs that make pharmaceutical companies rich.

My goal is to empower you to take charge of your own health. Here are some factors I believe contributing to these problems that you might not hear about from your doctor:

  • Poor sleep
  • Lack of sunshine
  • Artificial light &
  • Blue light at night
  • Processed & GMO foods
  • Sitting all day
  • Indoors all day
  • Seed oils
  • Plastics & PFAS
  • Living in constant temperature
  • nnEMF
  • Airpods
  • Fear
  • Disconnection from nature
  • Lack of social connections
  • Media consumption

We need to become our own health boss. All it takes is a little knowledge, practice and an open mind to try different things on and see how your mind, body and soul responds. Avoid these and you’ll crush it! I know you will.

✔️ Action Item – Going through the list which ones stands out for you? Just like junk food, are there any other unhealthy habits you can shift? Pick one or two and try them on this week.

Fall or Fly?

Most of us have felt the “What if I fall?” fear, running through our minds when we’re standing on the edge of something new and unknown. The “I shouldn’t, couldn’t” words of doubt that hold us back.

But here’s the real question we need to ask ourselves: “What if I grow wings and learn to fly?”

Fear is paralysing.

You must not fear going into the unknown and challenging yourself. If you don’t jump, you will never know what you are truly capable of. And sometimes it is the risk that you’re most afraid of, that you really need and that will change your life forever.

Fear can be paralysing, holding us back from the incredible potential that lies just beyond our comfort zone. But if you never take that leap, you’ll never discover what you’re truly capable of. And sometimes, the risk you’re most afraid of is the very step you need to take to transform your life.

With time, faith, and a bit of courage, you won’t just learn how to fly—you’ll learn how to soar. And as you soar higher and higher, you’ll find that those who choose not to jump may fade into the background. And that’s perfectly OK.

You may fall or you may fly saying with a person doing a flip over a beautiful cliff and into the ocean

Life is about growing, changing, and pushing ourselves beyond our comfort zones. It’s about evolving and finding our wings so we can reach new heights. Trust me—the view from up here is absolutely magnificent so keep reaching for the skies my unstoppable ones.

✔️ Action Item: Think about the leap you need to take. What’s holding you back, and how high will you soar once you make that jump? Take a moment to reflect and decide which step you’ll take next.

Greener Grass

“The grass isn’t greener on the other side. The grass is greener where you water it.”

What are you watering? And are you watering beautiful grass, flowers, fruits and veggies? Or are you watering weeds? Both will grow.
